Cancelling Stamps.Com - Shame on Stamps.com !


I had stamps.com before, but cancelled it. So I knew how they operated. But recently I received a letter asking me to "come back". I read it carefully, and they said you could cancel online. Plus I could get an Amazon gift card! So I decided to sign up, but since I had problems cancelling before, I used a virtual credit card to sign up, so I could cancel the card if I ran into problems cancelling.

Stamps.com seems pretty attractive at first. Free Scale, Free Amazon Gift Card, Cancel Online or by calling. But what is the real truth?

This is my story about cancelling my stamps.com account.

I attempted to cancel my account today, online. Here are my steps:

I searched the stamps.com website for help, how to cancel stamps.com How Do I Cancel
The information says go to Manage Accounts Section stamps.com Manage Accounts
I didn't see anything here about canceling, so I went Clicked change plans stamps.com change plans - looking for cancel
Nothing here, so check the My Profile stamps.com My Profile - looking for cancel
Still Nothing, maybe in the default payments section. stamps.com Default Payments - looking for cancel
With nothing found yet, I looked for a way to email customer service, So I used Google stamps.com looking to contact customer service - looking for cancel
I filled out the forms, using the best options available stamps.com Request Cancel via Customer Service  - looking for cancel
I clicked submit, and it came up with this stamps.com Before You Submit - looking for cancel
Guess where the "How do I close my stamps.account brought me? stamps.com How Do I Cancel
I submitted my request, and got this acknowledgment Stamps.com Customer Service Submitted - looking to cancel service


I submitted it Saturday at 11:00 am, I will post any updates.
As of Saturday 1:00PM I haven't gotten an email confirmation that they received my message.

On sunday morning, I received this email

I apologize that you don’t see the online option. I know your time is valuable, and we apologize for the inconvenience. 

Not to worry: we can take care of your request by email. We will need to verify your mailing address:

Once we receive this information, we can process your cancellation request and your account will be canceled and confirmation will be sent to the email address on record.

So I was able to close my account without being pressured to stay on.

I received email from endicia.com duplicating the above, and then a stamps.com email requesting I answer survey about customer service.
